Cooking for Two
There are a million and one websites and books out there that talk about cooking for two. In honor of Chef Sebastian, here are a few of my favorites:
SingleParentCooking.com - Insert the Mr. Obvious statements here. Even though this one seems a bit obvious, it’s still pretty good. It deals with kid-friendly meals, managing dinner time schedules, planning ahead, and just how to make dinner more pleasant in general (read: how to make your kids behave and not act like idiots). I might have to write them a find out what they think about kids who mention the unmentionables when cooking.
iLunchBox - Pretty much what it sounds like, but in an ultra-hip and modern type of way. It has recipes and recipes that are healthy and that you can cook
with kids. They get bonus points because they aren’t the usual recipes. Instead of cooking traditional kid meals in a healthy way, iLunchBox suggests items such as Chicken Avocado Tomato Pita and Strawberry Walnut Muffins . They also have resources that talk about school lunches and almost always have some neat lunch product featured on their website.
FamilyFun - Play With Your Food! - Ok, so technically not a recipe site but it’s a lot of fun nonetheless. It actually encourages kids to play with their food. Not in the “spaghetti stuck to the cafeteria ceiling” type of way but in a “food is beautiful” type of way. Either way you look at it, it’s worth checking out for something fun to do.
